The Southwest Illinois Baseball League was formed in 2005 with only one division and approximately 10 teams all located in the metro east area of Illinois. Each year, the league has continually expanded to where in 2015 we had our highest participation rate ever with 200 teams broken out into over 21 divisions. Through our growth, the league has changed from one that was small and relatively localize to where we now cover a 7 county area in Southwestern Illinois.
The primary purpose of forming the league was to provide children in the surrounding communities of Southwestern Illinois the opportunity to play the game of baseball at a highly competitive and enjoyable level! The goal has been, and remains to be, that while making the game of baseball fun we also strive to make each player better and ready for the next step in their young baseball career. The commissioners and coaches of the league are dedicated to creating an enjoyable experience for all of the kids who participate and constantly strive to make the league better than it was the year before. It is our belief that we have a spot for any team who wishes to participate and we work hard to match up teams of like kind and quality to make for competitive games regardless of skill level.
